New HLS Center of Excellence at Johns Hopkins?

No word yet on the DHS site or Johns Hopkins’ website on this, but this press announcement was posted on Daybook today:

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff; John Hopkins University President William Brody and Undersecretary for Science and Technology Charles McQueary Event, beginning at 2:30 p.m. to announce the Homeland Security Center of Excellence. [Note: Media wishing to attend must present valid media credentials and arrive no later than 2 p.m. RSVP requested.]

Location: The Johns Hopkins Hospital, 601 N Broadway
St., Hurd Hall, Baltimore, Md.

Update: here’s the DHS announcement. The new center is focused on emergency preparedness and response.
