DHS document lists intell-gathering priorities

Filed under: Intelligence and Info-Sharing,Risk Assessment — by Christian Beckner on July 18, 2006

William Arkin had an interesting post on his Early Warning blog over at the WaPo late last week. As part of the post, he posted a DHS document entitled “Priority Intelligence/Information Requirements for January 2005-July 2005”. Arkin criticizes the document for being vague and diffuse, but I actually think it serves as a useful checklist for threat detection activities. My main critique of the document is that state & local law enforcment agencies and private sector Chief Security Officers were not on the distribution list.
