Homeland Security Watch

Below is a list of homeland security policy events in the DC area next week (as well as the occasional listing outside of DC). I post a list each week and will sometimes update mid-week when I find new items. You can always find current and previous postings under the “Events” category tab at right. 8/7: National Association of Health Care Centers news conference to release a new stuy, “Legacy of a Disaster: Health Centers and Hurricane Katrina.” National Press Club, 529 14th St NW, 9:30am.
8/8: US Institute of Peace event on “Islamist Networks: The Case of Tablighi Jamaat.” 1200 17th St NW, 10am.
8/8: NOAA news conference to announce its updated “2006 Atlantic Hurricane Season Outlook.” National Press Club, 529 14th St NW, 11am.
8/9-8/11: World Research Group conference on disaster planning for hospitals. Mandarin Oriental, 1330 Maryland Avenue, SW.
8/9: Premiere of World Trade Center movie.
8/9: Coast Guard meeting to discuss the draft environmental impact statement for the Nationwide Automatic Identification System. 2100 Second St SW, 9am.
8/9: Women in Government Relations luncheon with FEMA director David Paulison. Charlie Palmer’s, 101 Constitution Ave NW, 12 noon.
