DHS.gov, redesigned
The redesign of the DHS.gov website - previewed in this post in July - has now been completed. The new look is good, and the site seems to run a bit faster than it previously did.
One major gripe, however - no effort was made to redirect legacy links within the site. I’ve linked to hundreds of pages deep within DHS.gov over the last ten months, and all of these links are now defunct. Many of these links - such as the old link to the DHS IG page - are in many peoples’ bookmarks. An effort should be made to facilitate this transition, and automatically redirect people to the appropriate new URL.
Update (10/20): Fellow blogger Michael Hampton weighs in with a similar (and more technically detailed) complaint.
