Simon and Benjamin’s book one of the best on Post 9/11 reviews of the past and suggestions for the future. Great appointment.

Will be interesting to see if the Senate Committees involved in these nominations have “real” questions?

Example, since Blair announced international economic situation the leading threat to national security where do the following fit in:

1: Demographics;

2: Climate change:

3: Public health;

3: Food, agriculture, and water;

Some of these are related of course but have the nominee describe in detail how DOD is collecting information on these topics, analyzing them, and integrating into policy development, adoption, and operations could be of great interest as always of course to those interested. Just so readers of this blog know on food and ag issues Department of Agriculture has some of the best and brightest working these questions and that also includes economics. Even the CIA and DIA trust AG in that arena.

Thanks for taking the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love learning more on this topic. If possible, as you gain expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more information? It is extremely helpful for me. Pepper’s Loney Hearts Club Band simply hasn’t been replicated.
