The Hajj: A pilgrimage for peace

According to a report early on November 17 in the Pakistani paper DAWN: 

Terrorism is forbidden in Islam and such acts should not be reciprocated at any cost, Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah said in his Haj sermon at Mount Arafat on Monday.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz said since Allah had bestowed humans with reason, it was binding on them to differentiate between good and evil.

“Islam believes in coexistence and disapproves of all acts which aim at sowing strife in society. Spilling the blood of human beings amounts to invoking the wrath of God.”

The Pakistan Times also has a bit longer piece summarizing the sermon.  I have not yet seen an English language translation of the entire sermon.  If you see it, please give us a link in the comments.

If you see any mention of the sermon in the US mainstream media, please also provide a link.  As I post it has been six hours since the sermon was completed and the only mention I have found so far is a Deutsch Presse-Agentur wire story buried at Monsters & Critics.

Could be an important development! Now await the renunciation of violence by other desert religions.

Far too much time has been lost and very little effort in communication and clarification of Muslims globally who do not profess violence or acts of harm against another whether Muslim, Christian or Hebrew or any other.

To those of you faithful HLSWatch.com readers and participants, pls convey the message herein presented by Shiekh Abdul Aziz to all media outlets especially in the west.

With many others, I (we) have been waiting for the Muslim and Islamic community to communicate with the west and better clarify and describe the Koran and the holy teachings each follows as not messages of death, but of Love and compassion towards all, not the select few globally who have chosen to subject others, even fellow Mulsims, to murder and to use the Koran and Islam coherece another to pick up sword, no, for these individuals and their dastardly deeds should all be held accountable by Islam as their manipulation of teh Koran and its teachings, of people, of children, subjecting women to secondary status and enslavement, a sense of ownership of another, causing much consernation…

….well, NPR, CNN and Fox News as well as SKY News and others, all of you shoudl be pasting this story as breaking nws, hopeful news as Muslims everywhere do not condone violence and imposition of their Islamic faith on anyone else, yet seek to pray in Peace and harmony. This uncesaary strife, this threat pwerceived by Islam must be altered as not accurate and this urgent message in describing Islamic faith and the Koran as not at all being as conveyed bt others seeking personal agenda, protecting their own coffers and manipulating the many youth of the Middle East who are not seasonaed enough to understand better the preciousness of Life….
