Just in case you missed it, earlier this week a guilty plea by 18-year-old Justin Kaliebe was unsealed at the US Federal Court in Islip, New York.  Court documents detail how Mr. Kaliebe intended to join the forces of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).  Federal authorities found evidence that the high school student had been accessing online English-language resources from AQAP.  More information from the FBI.

A few ideas on interagency cooperation to kick around. Something like the below might be ineteresting for Homeland Security/Emergency Management. Imagaine if one hand actually knew what the other hands could (really) do?

A program to teach young action officers about their counterparts across Defense, State, USAID, Treasury, Congress, Justice, the intelligence community, and law enforcement elements would raise awareness of capabilities and authorities outside our own agencies, and of the value inherent in collaborating with partners. Additionally, the curriculum should follow a standardized USG planning process (and accompanying vocabulary) that can actually be understood and implemented across agencies. Participants would end up with the same understanding and interpretation of USG policy in the classroom, and therefore be much better equipped to work together once on the ground, whether in Washington or downrange in a combat zone.,i>

Quin! A footnote: Most of my 20 years at FEMA included teaching the EM teams of other Departments and agendies but not about FEMA although that also! The training delt with the legal authorities for crisis management in these OFAs.

Your comment is very worthwhile and could be done at very low cost IMO! And should be done!

Referenced by me in an earlier comment is the FAS study of prevention of catastrophic events and it is posted on theFAS/FEMA page as well as the FEMA docs section on the homepage of the Vacation Lane Blog.

On this free Friday, I preface the following by stating clearly: Open the White House Doors Now – Our Kids Deserve Better! – Our kids shut out from being able to visit their White House while we spend $100 million in fiat federal reserve notes referred to as the dollar to enable Michelle Obama and her kids to see the history of Africa…and to see the Obamas shak’n their booty not only on late night television, but w/their rapper pals at the WH parties being safeguarded by the same Secret Service who can’t seem to watch the White House to enable the kids and the nieces and nephews, their friends and classmates and all others from visiting the White House where back on 911, when our brave Patriots aboard the flight realized their flight was to be used by terrorists to pierce this nation’s heart, OUR White House, they yelled, “let’s rock ‘n roll” and made sure that the White House doors would be opened to all, not just selected guests invited by our temporary eight year guests, the Obamas…w/Michelle Obama telling all how much she has been ashamed of this great nation!
Now the end of June 2013, our brave Patriots left behind and slaughtered at the “Benghazi Massacre” and Barry Obama even when addressing the ever corrupt UN on 25th September, weeks later, after all knowing the “Benghazi Massacre” was planned and carried out by Islamic extremists within hours from when the attack was initiated and Libyan officials publicly stated that it was a planned terrorist strike, Barry Obama and Hillary Clinton, caught in blatant lies and placing Islam before pledge in oath to protect those who serve the United States of America and even further the blatant lies standing shoulder to shoulder telling the story of some little known “flick” – well, We as a Nation do Not leave anyone behind and the weakness and intentional disarming of America by Barry Obama and Hillary Clinton is a breach of faith, treason!

We are in great peril! Even those who carried out the attack, known to DoD and State and this WH, allowed to walk freely while our brave Patriots have been laid to rest….

In the words of Frederick Douglas:

“Find out just what People will submit to, and you have found the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue until they are resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress” –

In the words of Samuel Adams (1775):

No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can they be easily subdued, when knowledge is wide spread and Virtue is preserved. on teh Contrary, when People are unwisely ignorant, and debauched in their manners, they will sink under their own weight without Aid of foreign invaders” –

To the “Brutes of Tehran” and others who seek the demise of this American nation, I suggest you look to Germany for it is Germany, in fact, our enemy as well which will address Islam extremists for certain. With corrupt and lack of any willingness to challenge much, America that we here love so much will surely fail:

Just as in 1870, 1914, 1939 and again in 2012, Germany is growing economically and sending weapons in the billions to Middle East easily transitioned as allies to Germany and promises even the Islamic fundamentalists much challenge, not America who has lost its way….
