Okay I guess my computer has mind of its own sometimes. I did enjoy Phil’s post on religion. I cannot repeat in full the comment that I initially furnished and then repeatedly tried to send but will capture the essence in short.

Western Civilization a civilization that I consider to be largely derived from Greece and Judaeo/Christian religions must always be considered after the birth of Islam to have been influenced by that religion. Western Civilization is NOT repeat NOT Christendom.

But I also consider Capitalism and Communism and other political/economic philosophies as in reality to have many of the trappings of formal religion. Thus, HS must consider and deal with the religions and drivers of our civilization and unfortunately it appears the Wars of Religions have now global spread.

It is appropriate to note the continued federal partial shutdown. Its full implications will only be discerned over a long period of time. But suffice it to say that governing as is active military service a very very tough slog. And the country’s shortage of leadership is painfully obvious.
