Will any of the candidates running for President in the election 16 & 1/2 months off be likely to fundamentally change HS and EM policies and governance? Not likely IMO!

My Four Horsemen of the 2016 campaign are war, immigration,cyber security and income inequality. All involve so-called WICKED PROBLEMS!

And most US policy and governance has been in place for decades! And unlikely to change!

You may have overlooked Bernie Sanders! Not sure what he thinks about DHS, but he is likely to have some original ideas.

Thanks Claire! And as Claire knows the notion that EM is reactive to events [attributed to Professor Thomas Birkland]
events might get in the saddle fast.

This Century we have already had several events large enough and/or catastrophic enough to impact the culture of the nation-states impacted.

E.G. the following:

1. 9/11/01 events in New York City and Washington, D.C.;

2. Hurricane Katrina;

3. The ACHEH earthquake and tsuanmi;

4. Fuskishima Da-Ichi;

5. Haiti;

6. Nepal;

7. Over 30 ongoing wars worldwide;

8. Historic refugee populations;

9. Drought and fires;

10. Arctic melting.

But how odd that President Obama has relatively speaking had a quiet 6 years domestic catastrophe speaking.

You are right about the list of nasty events in 2015. Looks like emergency managers will never run out of work.

Thoughts? Billions of tax payer dollars have been squandered especially when it comes to Cyber security and we are so vulnerable and the following article portraying just how tainted, how biased and how much this executive White House since the days even prior sitting in the Rev Wright pews for 20 years listening and obviously concurring that “If the Zionists have WMD in hand, why not Tehran” – Really? The “Brutes of Tehran” as I reference these thugs -Really?

Given the expediency in apologizing to the Middle East from the get go and this divisiveness spewed along with such empty political rhetoric and a policy bending even the Justice department again from the get go as the White House weighed into a 911 local Cambridge police matter which did not necessitate such attention —

Much like the days at Harvard as Barry Obama and Billy Ayers and other radicals and street organizers apparently much against the State, well the voters voted twice for a supposed Black man – even though born of a White Mother – and while the White House spews the propaganda and encourages unrest, never to be seen in Chicago helping precious Black youth in serious trouble killing one another, when one says there is no policy from the White House, I think the contrary as the policy has been quote clear – tear our nation down using biased and color and diminish our military and naval power and afford Tehran WMD – is this President a proxy for Tehran? Not interested in his birth certificate, however many of us on “Main Street USA” where we see no color, however clearly see a White House which has gone out of its way even in speech before the ever corrupt United Nations and apologize for America!

We here are not apologizing for America in any way and as far as good ‘ol Ms. Hillary standing shoulder to shoulder with Barry Obama at the “Benghazi Massacre” as just another mockery, travesty, charade….enough is enough for America is not for sale and we with clasped hand white, Black, Blue and Green and other, we are America to be so torn apart from within without our standing with steadfast determination and precious vote in hand to recall America and reestablish ourselves and honor our history and all who have sacrificed to enable us to be so Blessed no matter our challenges….

God Bless America!

Obama Admin Excluded Iran
From Threat Assessment

Washington Free Beacon | June 17

L eading U.S. officials are expressing concern
about newly disclosed efforts by the
Obama administration to play down the terrorism
threat posed by Iran in an official report
issued this year.

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper
admitted in a recent letter to top senators
that the administration wrongly excluded references
to the global terrorism threat posed by
Iran and its terror affiliate Hezbollah in the 2015
World Threat Assessment of the U.S. Intelligence

“A specific reference to the terrorist threat
from Iran and Hezbollah—which was not
included in any of the drafts of the testimony
[offered before lawmakers]—would have been
appropriate for the 2015 Assessment, but the lack
of its inclusion is in no way a change in the [intelligence
community’s] assessment,” Clapper wrote
in a June 3 letter to top senators.
Clapper’s letter came in response to an earlier
letter from a delegation of senators who were
seeking to discover why the Obama administration
excluded references to Iran’s global terrorist
operations. …

Some critics accuse the Obama administration
of downplaying the terrorist threat posed
by Iran and its proxies in order to appease the
Islamic Republic and preserve the ongoing talks
aimed at inking a wide-ranging nuclear deal. …
[One of the members of that Senate delegation,
Sen. Dan Coats (Ind.), said,] “I welcome
Director Clapper’s recognition of that error, but I
remain concerned about the administration’s priorities.”

Sen. Mark Kirk (R., Ill.), one of the leading
critics of the administration’s diplomacy with
Iran, said that U.S. concessions to Iran at the
negotiating table would only embolden its rogue
behavior. …
